Texas hired Xavier's Sean Miller to take over the Longhorns basketball program on Monday, turning to the coach who had just knocked them out of the NCAA Tournament a few days earlier in an attempt to spark a program that struggled in its first season in the Southeastern Conference.

Xavier (21-11) will try to play its way into the 64-team bracket Wednesday when the Musketeers face the Texas Longhorns (19-15) at UD Arena in the First Four at approximately 9:10 E.T. The winner will move on to face No. 6 Illinois at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee Friday night in the Midwest region.
