A zoo is asking people to drop off their old Christmas trees so they can be used as "enrichment" for the animals. Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in north Somerset has accepted about 15,000 trees over the past five years.

Elephants and other animals at Berlin zoo enjoyed a belated Christmas treat of unsold Christmas trees on Friday (January 3), in a yearly tradition across German zoos that regularly delights animals and public alike.

The animals not only eat the trees, they fight with them, rub themselves against them and "do various other things" a zoo spokesman said.
