For a school that got so much right in its introduction to college football’s upper crust, to the point that it’s the SEC’s last hope, Texas sure picked the wrong side of the bracket. Notre Dame or Penn State would have been just fine in the semifinals.

The result has been magical on the offensive end of the ball and look for that to continue. There’s a lot of confidence being exuded from quarterback Will Howard and the offensive playmakers and it’s going to be hard to stop if Kelly is dialing up plays that get all of that skill in open space and over the top.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (12-2) face the Texas Longhorns (13-2) in the Cotton Bowl Friday in a College Football Playoff semifinal. Kickoff from AT&T Stadium in Arlington is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
