Torrential rain caused deadly flooding in parts of central Texas Friday, knocking out power lines, damaging homes and setting off searches for missing people. People have died in the floods, according to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office.

Camp Mystic officials said catastrophic flooding of the Guadalupe River had washed away the highway and left the retreat without power, water or internet.
