OpenAI wants to make clear that Robinhood's sale of "OpenAI tokens" will not give everyday consumers equity — or stock — in OpenAI.

OpenAI has publicly disassociated itself from Robinhood’s recent offering of so-called “OpenAI tokens,” clarifying that these tokens do not represent actual equity in the company. In a post from its official newsroom account on X (formerly Twitter),

OpenAI said it was not involved in Robinhood’s launch of tokenized shares in Europe, warning users the assets were issued without its approval.
