Rick Tocchet will officially not become the next head coach of the Boston Bruins. The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have hired Tocchet to be their head coach.

Speaking on Wednesday during the “Morning Cuppa Hockey” podcas t, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli said that former Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft has emerged as a “leading candidate” for Boston’s head-coaching vacancy this offseason.

The Bruins' list of coaching candidates got shorter on Wednesday with one potential candidate reportedly finalizing a deal with the Flyers.
