In a couple of tweets, AMD elaborates on the reasons for the relatively late launch of the Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs.

If leaked pricing for AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT is accurate, it could mean Nvidia has a fight on its hands especially against the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti.

There haven't been any clear cut leaks, rumors, or reports about the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT's performance, or the performance of RDNA 4 in general. We can surmise, however, that the card won't be a 4K powerhouse thanks to its price point range.

The Radeon RX 9070 Series, the first GPUs from AMD to leverage its new RDNA 4 architecture, haven't been released yet because they are too expensive relative to the competition, according to new speculation brewed by a forum post from a PCGH insider who claims that the Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT have been delayed for reasons that include "unclear marketing funds" and trouble between AMD and its retail partners.
