The man who sent Luka Doncic out of Dallas is no longer part of the Mavericks organization. Nico Harrison was dismissed just one day after the team’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The decision was made by team owner Patrick Dumont – but it may have been influenced by a surprising conversation with a fan.

Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison was fired Tuesday during a meeting with team owner Patrick Dumont, the team confirmed.

Harrison and the Mavericks stunned the NBA in February by dealing Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis without shopping him around for other offers. Fans were irate and Harrison was widely panned for dealing a generational player in his prime.
