The impeachment of South Korea's acting President Han Duck-soo Friday has plunged the country into further political turmoil, coming less than two weeks after lawmakers impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The ruling People Power Party (PPP) on Saturday denounced the opposition-led impeachment of acting President Han Duck-soo as an attempt to bring down the government, saying that his impeachment should be nullified.

South Korea's opposition-controlled National Assembly voted to impeach acting President Han Duck-soo, further deepening the country's political crisis.
