To clear a slot on its offseason roster for Pickens, Dallas waived wide receiver Seth Williams, who played at Paul Bryant High School in Cottondale and Auburn. Williams joined the Cowboys’ practice squad on Oct. 8. He had re-signed with Dallas in January.

The Cowboys could be put in a precarious position financially if Pickens has a standout year in Dallas, as, according to Spotrac, they are projected to have $21.5 million in cap space. They are also expected to resign star pass rusher Micah Parsons, making the team’s financial constraints in the coming years even greater.
