The Albuquerque Police Department announced on Tuesday that Lt. Kyle Curtis retired from the department before he could be interviewed as part of the investigation into the DWI Unit scandal. He previously worked in the DWI Unit.

The retirement comes the same day as an interview was scheduled with the Internal Affairs Task Force, according to police.
