The Baltimore Orioles acquired Alex Jackson from the New York Yankees on Sunday after Gary Sánchez became their fourth catcher on the injured list. Sánchez left Saturday night’s game against Atlanta with right knee pain and an MRI revealed a sprain.

The Orioles traded for the Yankees’ Alex Jackson and placed Gary Sánchez on the injured list as their catcher injuries continue to pile up.

Baltimore picked up minor-league catcher Alex Jackson and immediately added him to their 40-man roster. In exchange, the Orioles will give New York international bonus pool space, plus either a player to be named or cash considerations.
