Sutton is a city in Clay County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,447 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Hastings, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area. Sutton was laid out in 1871 when the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad was extended to that point. It was named after the town of Sutton, Massachusetts.
