This unfinished fifth-century Doric temple has everything but a roof and an interior, and the huge structure seems unaffected by time. A small theater atop a …

The ruins of Segesta are worth a day visit. The most spectacular part is of course the Temple. The other very beautiful ruin, fairly well preserved, are the theater. Other ruins are not as well pr… Full review by ideastoactupon

Very interesting and well cared for tourist destination that you should check out if you're in the area. The structure itself seems almost as it must have been when first built, it's amazingly intac… Full review by Steve R

Tempio di Segesta is a wonderful classical Greek temple located in the surroundings of Calatafimi-Segesta, a little town in Sicily Island. It is a very well preserved temple, you can see, when you en… Full review by AlbertSalichs
Bus to Segesta. I've found the Tarantola bus from Palermo, but unsure of where the actual bus stop is. The bus appears to stop in Segesta and Calatafimi-Segesta before going to Trapani, but does Segesta mean the site or a nearby village? Also found that a Segesta Autolinee bus goes hourly from Palermo to Trapani, but can I get off when it passes Segesta? This would be better as much more frequent that the Tarantola bus.

Thanks, will ask at the ticket office a few days beforehand.
Hi, thank you for your great review, it has already helped us in planning our upcoming car trip to sicily and more specifically the segesta part of the trip. We would like to ask, since it wasnt clear for us in google maps, the exact location of the parking lot. Is it close to the ticket office? In a youtube video someone says they had to take two buses, one from the parking lot to the ticket office and than another one to the temples and that has got us even more confused about (1) where should we head to for parking and also (2) how much time will this visit take. We tend to do things independently and is a fast pace and all this buses seems so time consuming....

The parking lot is 200 meters down the road from the ticket office. There is no bus and none is required. Remember, the main parking lot by the ticket office is now closed to visitors. Once you buy your ticket, you walk uphill a few hundred meters to the temple. There is no bus to the temple. The only bus runs from the snack bar area near the ticket office up to the amphitheater which is about 1.5 km. My recommendation: arrive at the ticket office by 8:50am to be first in line for the 9am opening. Then walk up to the temple. Walk back and take the 9:30am bus to the amphitheater. Then walk downhill back for more temple views and colorful wildflowers. This way, you can avoid the crowds at both sights. In summary, there is only one bus -- up to the amphitheater and it leaves every half hour both ways. There are no other buses and none are needed.
