Parking in Richmond is not easy ( we ended up at the old station) but when you do you will see the imposing sight of Richmond Castle which dominates the town. Unfortunately for us as we arrived it s… Full review by RobR996

As long as you want ☺️ We spent about a couple of hours but sat on the grass for a drink of water as it was very warm.The Keep wasn’t open but it didn’t spoil our time there. Please take time to visit the garden it’s a bit out of the way but it’s lovely. Stay longer and take some food in with you from the shops in the square.

Do they sell the Richmond Castle and Easby Abbey guidebook, which has a red spine, at Richmond Castle itself?

Yes. And you need to go to the castle first to get it as there is nothing on sale at the abbey

It should be possible if you leave quite early in the day. You would need to catch a train from Kings Cross to Darlington and then a direct bus from Darlington to Richmond. The train …

It should be possible if you leave quite early in the day. You would need to catch a train from Kings Cross to Darlington and then a direct bus from Darlington to Richmond. The train journey is about 2.5 hours being a high speed service and the bus journey is just under an hour. The train service is used by commuters who live in North Yorkshire and work in central London so the journey can't be that bad. I hope this helps.
