I’m not sure there is an official time. We arrived a little before sunset (in December when days are shorter). Looks like they close the gates about a half hour before sunset and stop letting people inside. When we left around sunset, there were many people still there, appearing to be in no rush to leave. The guards simply opened the gate and let us out.

it is closed by 6pm ; go early in the morning

Just grab a taxi, it was very cheap as no boat there.
