This is another experience where pictures don't do it justice. There are several angles with which to view the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. From the overlook at the top, the middle, and the base.… Full review by RDH2017

What will be the best way to enjoy both Yellow stone and the MT. Rushmore with over two weeks time...rent an RV, or a car?

We just returned. We did Yellowstone, Tetons, Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse, Custer, Badlands, Wind Cave in 1 week. With 2 weeks, we would have had an opportunity to see so much more. I agree with the others, even though I wanted to RV it, I found moving in a car much easier. I would do multiple nights each place. Yellowstone just renovated and re opened the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, and it is beautiful. One thing to note, many places in Yellowstone do not have cell service or wi fi. We stayed in custer for mt. rushmore (you can visit in a day) but there are so many other things in and around custer that complement mount rushmore. In custer, if you are wanting the a camping experience, there are campgrounds with slope houses, cabins, and teepees. (We stayed in a teepee one night just for the experience). We then moved from Custer to Rapid City to complete our trip. There are lots of places to stay in any of the gateway cities.
Hi! What are everyone’s top recommendations for geysers and hot springs and pools for the loop road. We’ll have 3 days in Yellowstone during the last week of August (this month). Our base is the Old Faithful Inn. Also, if anyone knows how the crowds are the last week of August...just curious. We arrive in Yellowstone on 8/25 and leave for Grand Teton NP on 8/28.
